St Petersburg

Okay, let me explain .......... I love to stitch. And I do like to stitch a variety of things. But.....this is my first Chatelaine and......IT IS SUCKING THE LIFE OUT OF ME!! There I've said it and I don't regret it. I knew when I started this piece that if I didn't keep up with the parts as they came out monthly that I wouldn't finish the piece, and it was wwwwwaaaaayyyyy too expensive not to finish, but...I don't work well with deadlines (in the stitching world anyways). So there is tons of pressure and it's making me put aside other things I'd rather be stitching. And if this piece wasn't bad enough, part 3 is formatted so small you can barely read it. A lot of people (including me) have not been able to get our computers/printers to print it out in a larger version. The first 2 parts were fine, so I'm not sure what Martina did to part 3 to make it so small. And as I was stitching on this tonight I realized I made a COLOSSAL error, but I will do almost anything not to frog (and I've done tons of frogging on this already). I will have to wait for part 4 to see if the error must be frogged or if I can compensate around it. I didn't intend for this to be a depressing post but it sure feels good now that I've vented. :)

Wow, you've got lots of beauties going on!! And I like your recent stash haul. :)

Sorry to hear about your troubles with your Chatelaine - it is beautiful though. If the chart is in Adobe format, I can help you resize before printing. Let me know. :)

P.S. Yep, the geckos come every summer like clock work and ONLY outside :)

Oooo, oooo, this is not good news for my stitching friend and Chatelaine buddy! We have to talk!! Please email me: interiorsbydeb2@aol.com so I can give you some extra hints/help with this piece. It is sometimes difficult to stitch Martina's designs, but don't let them discourage you. I can see you are doing beautifully with it!! Let's talk! Sending hugs and good thoughts your way! Deb in FL

If you want, I could email you a larger copy of this chart - I haven't had any problem enlarging. You can email me lbousbaine at hotmail dot com. The deadlines are killing me too but I know I'll be worse if I don't keep to the deadlines and would kill myself trying to finish whether I liked it or not!

St. Petersburg looks great! Don't stress yourself too much with the deadlines. You will finish it even if you don't keep up with it! (Well, I can talk, I have yet to finish my first big Chatelaine...).

All pdf files can be enlarged. I'm not very good at explaining things, but there is an excellent illustrated explanation in the General Stitching forum of the Chatelaine Yuku Board.

Just found your blog so thought I'd say hello. I am stitching Chatelaine Christmas Mystery IV and am managing to keep up with it but just don't really like it. Like you I can't afford not to finish it. I struggled to enlarge the last part so am now wondering if it's because I've downloaded the newest version of Adobe reader. St Petersburg is looking beautiful. Hang on in there.

Oh you poor thing. This is one of the things that puts me off doing a chateliene as there is so much detail in them. I do not think they are an easy stitch but I bet the finished result will be stunning. Keep plodding along!!

I hope you'll post pictures of your purchases! Its great, though some times bad seeing what everyone is getting. Bad in that it can make me want that too!

I don't work well with deadlines either and as a result haven't finished part 1 yet. Yours looks incredible!
