Noah/Struggles and trials

Here is an update on Noah. The more I stitch this the more I know I don't want to stitch on 40ct again, nor 1/1 again ;). I am really shocked at how poor my eyesight has become.
Thanks for all the nice comments about my Mermaid(s).

Struggles and trials have become a normal part of my life for the past year and a half. I never realized you could feel so many emotions (often at the same time). These struggles have to do with my oldest daughter, whom I love so much. This past year and half has taught me that I would LITERALLY give up my life for her to get herself back on track. You always hear people say they would die for their kids. But I KNOW I would die for any one of mine. We received more distrubing news about our wayward daughter last night and I think I cried 2 pounds of tears. On my good days I KNOW that God is in control, and that he knows what is going on in my daughter's life. It's so hard to remember God's greatness in times of difficulty and yet he should be our biggest comfort. How disappointing I must be to God because I do not trust in Him the way I should. But God uses trials to make us better people for him. Apparently I need a lot of work since he keeps giving us more to deal with.
I leave you with the verse below, knowing this is my time for weeping.

"To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die...a time to weep, and a time to laugh."

Your stitching is beautiful. I've never stitched 2/2 on 40 ct so I'm more than impressed with your en devour!

I hope you will know that we will be praying here for your daughter. Whatever is going on in her life it is clear the heartache it is causing you. You and your entire family will be a part of our prayers.

Yeah, I definitely know the struggles of having to pray that things go well with our children...

Just remember Matthew 17:20 - He told them, "Because of your lack of faith. I tell you with certainty, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."

It may not necessarily be you that God is trying to teach during this time... it may be your daughter.

Praying for your comfort and peace and your daughter to start listening to what God is trying to tell her... and that things start getting better.

Noah looks absolutely fantastic! I can certainly understand your lack of desire to stitch 1/1 on 40 count again though :oS

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through such trying times. I can certainly sympathize although I may not understand your situation. I've had enough over the past year. Sigh. I too struggle with those thoughts and I only hope that something good will come out of it soon for you. ((((HUGS))))

The lessons of being a parent are that you can raise them, teach them, love them, but you cannot live their lives for them. God gave us free will so that we can find our own way and stand up tall and straight as a responsible, compassionate adult. You can only live your own life and know your own truths. Knowing that God loves you is one of the most important truths. Let that guide you regardless of whatever else is going on with the people around you.

I've never tried stitching on 40ct... I think that would make anyone blind!

Sorry to hear about the problems with your daughter. I know my family has gone through rough spots with both of my siblings and there's just very little to nothing you can do!

Noah is looking fabulous!

And may I also say...that I'm praying for you and your family. I have no eloquent words to say. But I know with a firm faith that God gives you no more than you can handle. And while you think you are floundering, He may be carrying you in His arms, along with your daughter during this tumultuous, sea tossed time.

I think Kathryn said it best: 'The lessons of being a parent are that you can raise them, teach them, love them, but you cannot live their lives for them.' Very difficult, I know. I certainly can sympathize having children of my own.

In terms of 1/1, I've done it on high counts and I use 3.00 mag glasses and bright light shining right on the fabric. Not one of my favorite things to do, I'll do smalls, but nothing in the BAP department. Your Noah looks great, finish it and never do another 1/1 on a high count again, ;-)

Noah is looking so great, but I can't imagine stitching on 40 ct. in the first place let alone over 1. What you've gotten done so far amazes me.

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. Hopefully things will right themselves for her and you. It is so hard sometimes when you see them doing things that aren't good for them and you can't stop them or fix it. I've been on both sides, causing the heartache to my parents, and then disparing of some things my daughter had going. In both cases it worked itself out. I so hope that it will for her too and soon. {{hugs}}

I love your Sunday School Lesson. $0ct is hard and so is 1 over 1. I try not to do either. Makes for nice finished projects, but it is not worth the stress on our eyes.

All I can say about your life struggles, is have faith. It will all be fine.

I'm so sorry to hear of the pain you are suffering regarding your daughter. God never gives us more than we can handle although I doubted that many times during the struggles with my son. Perhaps He is testing both of you.
I know that nothing I may say can heal your pain but please know that I will keep your family in my prayers at this time.

Your eyesight may be weaker but Noah looks great!
