She's growing

Well my mermaid is definitely growing. She is still fun to work on, although I made a counting error somewhere and today I was able to compensate around it. Took a while to make everything match up, but I did it.

I want to try and dye my own linen, but have never done it. I've gotten some tips from Vonna's blog using RIT. Can anyone else give me some tips or directions, even if you point me to somewhere on the internet.
Thanks so much.

Barbara at Mainely Stitching did a post not so long ago about dying fabric.

She's gorgeous! The colors are so rich. Glad you were able to make things work, I hate frogging :-).

Here are some links I saved at some point on dying linen. I don't know which ones are still there but you can always check them out and see.

I liked what Julie said...they look swimmingly ;) Gorgeous! And the fabric is perfect!

I can tell you a whole load about dyeing your fabric, but the #1 thing I learned is WET your fabric first and then commence the dyeing. If you go here:

http://www.ritdye.com/Create+Custom+Color.9.lasso

You can get custom color combinations (measurements) to creat a load of possibilities with RIT. And while your there look around...then the best thing to do is just JUMP IN!

Good for you that you were able to get around the error. I never seem to have that kind of luck and usually end up frogging.

The mermaid is beautiful. A propos to dying. My attempts have all been disasters! I am not game to give advice. LOL
